Wayne State University is pleased to host the 2020 annual meeting of the NIEHS-funded environmental health sciences core centers. We are pleased to offer many interesting sessions and speakers at this years' meeting, and hopefully a few fun moments as well! We are especially excited to have everyone join us for our Welcome Reception at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center, designed by the late Minoru Yamasaki, the notable Japanese-American architect who designed the World Trade Center. The building was completed in 1958 and was the first commission of Yamasaki, marking his shift from traditional International Style to a style known as the New Formalism. The building was designated a National Historic Landmark for its architecture in 2015. In addition, we will be hosting a dinner at the Detroit Institute of Arts, home to one of the largest and most significant art collections in the United States. The DIA has over 100 galleries and covers 658,000 square feet, and is regarded as among the top six museums in the United States, with art collections valued in billions of dollars. The DIA is located in Detroit's Cultural Center Historic District, and across the street from Wayne State's main campus. We look forward to having you join us in Detroit!
