CURES Career Development Program

The CURES Career Development Program nurtures the next generation of leaders in the environmental health sciences.  Consistent with the 2012-17 NIEHS Strategic Plan theme on training, CURES facilitates the development of expertise in new areas relevant to increasingly complex urban environmental health issues.  The Program promotes innovative multidisciplinary research and development of new collaborations among researchers and community members.

The CURES Career Development program:

  • Assists CURES researchers in achieving benchmarks of success in environmental health research, including publishing high-impact research and obtaining extramural funding (esp. from NIEHS);
  • Helps CURES researchers expand skills in their discipline and in new areas of team, translational, and transdisciplinary environmental science;
  • Provides opportunities for CURES researchers to develop skills in working closely and effectively with members of the community; and
  • Provides opportunities for CURES researchers at all levels to become more skilled at effectively disseminating their findings to other researchers, health care professionals, the community, and policy makers.
